Pandian is a 1992 action Tamil language movie directed by the Tamil director SP. Muthuraman. It stars Rajinikanth, Kushboo, Janagaraj and Jayasudha in the lead roles. It was released on 25 October 1992 as one among Deepavali releases along with Thevar Magan Its music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. This film was remake of Kannada film Bombay Dada. starring Tiger Prabhakar and also directed by him. Tiger Prabhakar portrayed the antagonist in the remake. It was dubbed in Telugu as Secret Police and Hindi as Kanoon Ka Khiladi. Film was settled finally in 5th position among Diwali race of 1992. Kamalhaasan – Sivaji Ganesan starrer Thevar Magan was a clear winner and huge block buster, also Sathyaraj’s Thirumathi Palanisamy, Prabu’s Senthamizh Pattu, K.Bhagyaraj’s Raasukutti were the winners of Diwali race. The film received mixed to negative reviews and flop at the box office.
The film is about Pandian (Rajinikanth) who wants to avenge his sister’s (Jaysudha) husband’s (Charan Raj) death.He joins the murderer’s gang and how he takes revenge forms the crux of “Pandian”. Then the gang came to known that Pandiyan made undercover operation, Pandiyan was a police officer.The rest of the story deals with how pandiyan caught the culprit, with stylish approach of Pandiyan (Rajinikanth).
